Unveiling Diplomacy
(Ongoing)
As New York emerges from lockdown, a war in Europe unfolds. Unveiling Diplomacy began as an exploration of United Nations’ Headquarters during COVID – a survey of empty hallways and lonely desks. But as the conflict in Ukraine erupted and COVID restrictions laxed, the UN once again was abuzz with activity. All the while, protesters stood outside the building each day as they awaited definitive action by those in power.
Following four years of working at the UN, I set out to document day-to-day life of UN affairs - from the sidelines of meetings to the cafes and libraries - and explore how day-to-day office life carries on amidst a backdrop of war.
